The things that we have eaten for years were once new to us too, but now the issue is that we have become set in our ways. If you dare to try something new every once in while, you can become better acquainted with variety, and adopt the new things that you really do like.
There is no reason in making yourself try to develop a taste for something you already know you do not like. However, you’ll never really know if you like something until you do actually try it. This is often very true of international cuisine. It may look a bit different, but millions of people eat it regularly, so it can't be so distasteful. Taking a small leap of faith and trying a different food is not going to be such an ordeal, so why not try something different once a week or so and surprise yourself with how much you could enjoy it?
